perturbation theory at nite temperature / density and its application

چکیده
In order to describe properties of an equilibrated quark-gluon plasma, QCD at nite temperature (and density) has to be considered. Besides lattice calculations, which can be applied only to static quantities at zero density, perturbative QCD has been used. At nite temperature, however, serious problems such as infrared divergent and gauge dependent results have been encountered. These di culties can be (partially) avoided if one starts from e ective Green functions constructed by resumming a certain class of diagrams (hard thermal loops). Within the last few years this improved perturbation theory (BraatenPisarski method) turned out to be a powerful tool for computing interesting quantities of the quark-gluon plasma phase. In the present talk a basic introduction to the Braaten-Pisarski method is provided and its applications and limits are reviewed. In particular, damping rates, the energy loss of energetic partons, thermalization times, the viscosity of the quark-gluon plasma, and the production of photons and dileptons are discussed.

Analytic Equation of State for the Square-well Plus Sutherland Fluid from Perturbation Theory
Analytic expressions were derived for the compressibility factor and residual internal energy of the square-well plus Sutherland fluid. In this derivation, we used the second order Barker-Henderson perturbation theory based on the macroscopic compressibility approximation together with an analytical expression for radial distribution function of the reference hard sphere fluid. These properties...

متن کاملAn Analytical Equation of State for Saturated Liquid Refrigerant Ternary Mixtures
In this work an analytical equation of state has been employed to calculate the PVT properties ofternary refrigerant mixtures. The theoretical EoS is that of Ihm, Song and Mason, which is based onstatistical-mechanical perturbation theory, and the two constants are enthalpy of vaporization ΔHvapand molar density ρnb, both at the normal boiling temperature. The following three temperaturedepende...

In this paper, the phononic structure and Enthalpy of CaB2 compound in simple hexagonal and orthorhombic phase have been investigated. The calculations were performed using the pseudo-potential method in the framework of the density functional theory and using the Quantum-Espresso code. Using the group theory and the characteristic table of the composition point group, the phonon modes were ide...
